Uganda coupleDavid and Naomi married in 1993 and were blessed with five children. Over the years, their marriage became more and more of a challenge. They had attended premarital counseling, but it had only consisted of a one-hour session with a counselor—not enough to help with the major issues they were facing.

In October 2006, while listening to a sermon at St. Andrews Church in Kampala, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. Although David was now a follower of Christ, he continued to struggle in his marriage. He had tried for a long time to figure it out on his own by listening to the experiences of his married colleagues and friends. Nothing seemed to help.

A brother in Christ soon introduced David and Naomi to a HomeBuilders group led by Apollo and Robinah Mwehamiza, FamilyLife Coordinators for Uganda. They began attending the group with six other couples and were impressed with how it began to help them. “This HomeBuilders group has been a great source of spiritual encouragement to our lives as a couple, especially in building us as a God-fearing family,” says David.
Through the HomeBuilders study, David and Naomi rededicated their lives to Christ and became consistent in their Bible study and prayer life. “We now seek answers to our problems and challenges from the Word of God,” says David.

David and Naomi also found godly friends with whom they could share their challenges and achievements as they supported one another through their fellowship and testimonies.

“We look forward to founding and leading a HomeBuilders group of our own to continue the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ!” says David. “Praise be to our God!”
